Gallery Artists / Barbara Gould Watts

Barbara Gould Watts

Barbara Watts never tires of constantly exploring all the facets of watercolor. Her paintings are representational for the most part but are based on abstract forms. A background in graphic art and design has helped form her way of looking at things. She would often start a landscape in Maine, and using a digital camera to catch the shadows and color, she finishes the work at home.

She lives and works near Princeton, New Jersey. As an active member of the Princeton Artists Alliance, a group of professional artists, she feels constantly challenged. The group has had traveling shows on a variety of subjects, including "Homer's Odyssey" and "Marsh Meditations" inspired by , New Jersey's marshlands. Barbara has been exhibiting in juried shows, and winning many awards, including the Garden State Watercolor Society, New Jersey Watercolor Society, the American Watercolor society, in New York where she recently received a Gold Medal., and is long time exhibitor at the Annual Juried show at Phillip's Mill. Her watercolors are in numerous private and public collections.
